Diphu August 23:  The two day long, first Deputy Commissioner’s conference of Assam which  began yesterday in Diphu, headquarter town of Karbi Anglong autonomous district, closed with great positivity and expectations.  The conference was chaired by Chief Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma.

Top level bureaucrats and administrators of Assam government were present in the conference which began from 9.00am. Deputy Speaker of Assam Assembly Dr. Numol Momin, Minister Dr. Ronaj Pegu, Ashok Singhal, Jogan Mohan, Member of Parliament from hills of Assam Horensing Bey, all MLAs of Karbi Anglong remained present with the Chief Minister.

Assam Development Plan

Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma later told the media that a roadmap has been equipped for holistic development of Assam during the 21 hour long brainstorming session; he mentioned that schemes on priority basis have been marked for taking up in the coming six month time.

He announced that to remove the impediment of land revenue department mission Vasundhara will be initiated. He mentioned that along with the state government’s priority projects the central sponsored schemes will also be executed in full spirit.

Removing Administrative Hurdles

He said that certain administrative reforms will be done to remove administrative hurdles of Deputy Commissioners, and in the next Tezpur session action taken within this six month phase will be evaluated.

Additional Chief Secretary of Assam Government, Principal Secretary of BTAD, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Commissioner and Special Secretary of all developmental departments of Assam government, Director General of Police were present throughout the session.

In broad government thrust areas like creation of district infrastructure, food and civil supply department’s one nation one ration card, land acquisition – allotment and survey of non cadastral  land, transport and mines- minerals, forest, Excise- PMKSY- Irrigation, power, social welfare, Jal Jeevan Mission, health, education, P&RD& livelihood, agriculture (PM Kisan), GDD (housing for deprived), Fisheries PMMSY, PWRD (PMGSY) PWD(B&H) featured in two day session.
