Kanwaldeep Singh Sidhu – ex Railways Protection Force

“One Kanwaldeep Singh Sidhu main accused of the recent kidnapping of one Ajit Das from guwahati was apprehended today. However, during travel he snatched a police weapon and fired, in retaliatory fire he sustained serious injury and was taken to hospital,” Tweeted Assam Police Special DGP, GP Singh.

Kanwaldeep Singh Sidhu was wanted by Assam police in connection with the kidnapping of businessman Ajit Das of Guwahati; however Das and other associates of Sidhu are in police custody now.

Ajit Das abduction

It is to be mentioned that, on June 23, six miscreants kidnapped businessman Ajit Das, a railway parking lessee, from his house in Guwahati. Later, Guwahati Police rescued Das from a location in Jagiroad, Morigaon district. Three people arrested in connection with the kidnapping have been identified as Forest Guard Jiten Bailung, home guard Suraj Pator and Moneswar Das, a pharmacist, Sanju Bordoloi and Satya Bordoloi. However, the raison d’être for the Ajit Das kidnap was not known until now.

However an official source now claims that Ajit Das is involved in drug smuggling and received a consignment of drugs worth INR 25 lakhs from a lady in Dimapur Nagaland. It is claimed that Ajit Das did not make payment to the woman smuggler who is in Diphu jail, under judicial custody.

Kanwaldeep Singh Sidhu was assigned by this lady to abduct Ajit and collect the payment from him. After the foiled attempt Sidhu was sheltered by this lady through her clout in that hideout from where he was taken into custody by Dillai police.
