Srinagar/Jammu:
A Pakistani militant who was caught alive by villagers after an encounter in Chenani village in Udhampur claimed that he crossed the line of control to kill “Hindus in India.”
Soon after he was caught on Wednesday afternoon, the militant, identified as Mohammed Naveed, a resident of Faisalabad Pakistan said, “It’s fun doing this… I came to kill Hindus.”
Ambush on BSF
Naved said that he belongs to Pakistan and his partner was killed after the duo ambushed a border security forces vehicle on the Srinagar- Jammu National-highway on Wednesday morning, killing two BSF men and wounding another eleven.
“My partner was killed in the firing but I escaped. Had I been killed, it would have been Allah’s will. There is fun in doing this,” Naveed said when asked by the villagers who overpowered him and handed over to the police.
Wearing a dark blue shirt and brown trousers, Naveed alleged that he crossed the LOC because Kashmiri people are being killed.
Militant Changes His Story
“I came here before 12 days ago. We walked for days in the jungle and then reached here,” he said.
The captured militant, however, after several hours, changed his statement and said that he and three others had crossed the Line of Control 12 days before Ramzan – in the first week of June. “I crossed the LOC 12 days ago from Kupwara in Kashmir,” he told police.
Indian agencies are expected to arrive in Jammu soon, to interrogate the militant .
