Diphu February 19: The 51st edition of the Karbi Youth Festival 2025 will draw to a grand close today with an extravagant cultural night featuring acclaimed singer Richa Bhardhuwaj, capping off a vibrant celebration of Karbi heritage.

The festival, held at Taralangso in the fringe of Diphu, has been a dynamic showcase of culture, sports, and music, despite being challenged by persistent heavy rainfall since yesterday afternoon.
The closing ceremony’s highlight will be a performance by Richa Bhardhuwaj, who was seen in traditional karbi attire with her soulful melodies are anticipated to enthrall attendees.
Local Star Dipanwita Deka
The event follows yesterday’s electrifying evening, where Assamese singer Dipanwita Deka, a rising local star, mesmerized the crowd with a heartfelt rendition of a traditional Karbi song.
Her performance, held at the Diphu Taralangso Karbi Peoples Hall‘s grounds, underscored the festival’s commitment to promoting regional talent and cultural traditions.
Unrelenting rain since Saturday afternoon tested the resilience of organizers and attendees alike, yet the spirit of the festival remained unshaken.
Volunteers and staff worked tirelessly to ensure events proceeded smoothly, with audiences braving the downpour to celebrate Karbi culture.
Dead Lift Competition
Amid the festivities, the Dead lift Competition organized by RSR Gym in association with the Karbi Cultural Society saw fierce participation.
Somesh Das clinched the coveted Thong Nokbe title in the men’s category, while Neha Bordoloi secured first place in the women’s category, exhibiting amazing strength and dedication.
