Scholarly Books
Dr. Mahanta has written many other scholarly books and this latest book is being well received by people from all over India. KPAC is a non-political body and it has never interfered in politics. But various organizations are trying to link the council with the citizenship issue which is incorrect. The KPAC has nothing to do with the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016. It has also been said that NRC is the sole responsibility of the State Government and not of the Council. This book by Mahanta is a useful guide and reference material for the people. It will clear up many doubts of different individuals and organizations including political parties such as the BJP, Congress and others.
It was also purposely written in very simple language, easy to understand even by non-academic readers. Nani Gopal Mahanta wrote this book after travelling throughout Assam to gather facts. The book was published by Deep Publications of Guwahati from their editing and publishing division named Dibru Publication.
