Diphu July 15: Chief Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Tuliram Ronghang has said that Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has assured him that Assam government will raise Special Police Commando Battalions on the delineate of the National Security Guards.

Border Security: Commando Battalions

Ronghang mentioned that, these commando battalions will be raised particularly to protect the interstate borders; this special force will be posted in an assortment of susceptible vicinity like Assam – Nagaland border of Tinsukia Districts, Bodo Land Territorial Region including and other critical boundary region.

Tuliram Ronghang also informed that he made an on the spot study of the Assam – Nagaland boundary near Lahorijan Border Outpost of Karbi Anglong district. Karbi Anglong district shares a vast length of border with Nagaland.

Ronghang was accompanied by Amarsing Tisso, Executive Member in charge of Land Revenue Department, Pushpraj Singh Superintendent of Police Karbi Anglong, several other executive members and government officials.

A recent story noted that it is well documented that there is no absolute officially agreed Geographical area of the political boundary of the 16th state of the union of India, created on the 1st December 1963. The Sundaram commission (1972-76) stated that more than 4000 square miles of Assam’s land had been claimed without basis by Nagaland.
